Default MARC National Meet June 2018 Hotel Rates and MORE!!!

We are pleased to announce that we have booked the host hotel for the Branson June 2018 MARC meet and have gotten a GREAT rate of $89 per night which includes a $10.95 buffet breakfast for each room member bringing the average cost below $69 per night. We experienced the breakfast first hand this past month and was all you could ever desire from a buffet breakfast in an up class hotel. We have things moving right along as we have a location for the mandatory tour including a great lunch cooked for us on site and lots of history which made Branson known to the country. There are only a few details left to lock in the rest of the activities for this meet but it is well on its way with the help of some of the board members of the Branson Region. The hotel we chose hosts many veteran groups and the walls of the lower level are filled with pictures and they have a special room for Metal of Honor winners which may be used as our registration area. We have extended the meet in include a Saturday and Sunday following the awards banquet so we can take in some more shows and touring of a great area to tour in our Model A's.
There are 53 theaters in Branson with over 125 live shows weekly and something for every music lover. The country theme of the original Branson has been infused with some great music genre for every taste. We try to experience a different show with each visit to Branson as we plan each phase of the meet. Recently we saw the Frankly Vale and the Four Seasons show done by the New Jersey Nights group and they do a phenomenal job. My wife insisted on the dvd and now we listen to Sher air ee Sher e baby all the time as well as Bi ig Girls They Don't Cry. This theater is just across the street from the host hotel so you can walk. There are so many shows to see that it would take a couple months to experience all of them as well as several museums including the Titanic museum. If you have interest in this meet please let me know so we can put you on the newsletter list so you can be updated as we put this meet together.
A special shout out to Linda Cook, Paul Ganninger, and Dick Knapp for their efforts so far. All our region members are more than two hours away so it does take a lot of extra effort to coordinate all of this.
Best to all and let us hear from you.

Dan,
Congratulation on getting the MARC meet in Missouri. My wife and I have been to Branson many, many times, usually for Danial O'Donnell - my wife is a groupie for him. Branson is centrally located in the US, so the attendance should be good and well as the entertainment available in Branson. Many thanks for getting the details taken care of for the meet. I know it is a huge job hosting an event like this. Would you publish the dates for the meet?

Yes dates are from the 24th of June to July 1st of 2018. Unfortunately this is at the same time as the MAFCA national meet in Reno. It was never our intent to compete with the MAFCA meet but the hotels that were available could either take us during this week or at the end of August and that is not a good time to be in Missouri for the heat and humidity. Hope you can make it as we have so many fun things planned and Branson and the area have something for everyone from 5 to 95. They have a scenic railway trip into Arkansas and very scenic through the Ozarks hills. A great river boat cruise on adjoining Table Rock Lake with a show and dinner. We may be able to plan a ladies bus shopping trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas some 50 miles away through the rugged Ozark hills and surely to be a good day trip for any Model A as it will be one of the self guided trips available to anyone. One of America's premier theme parks is at Silver Dollar City adjoining Branson as well and it will be a great hub for the youth as well as a fun day to tour the hand craftsmanship of all the crafts of the horse drawn era. The Shepard of the Hills looks to be the mandatory tour destination and if you have never read how Branson began it was from a book written about the area and people of the turn of the century. The book Shepard of the Hills was on the best seller list in 1907 and hence attracted a huge number of readers to visit the hills of Branson and thus the beginning of the attraction to this beautiful area. There is a lookout tower at the Shepard of the Hills that takes you from the highest peak up 230 feet(by elevator) and you can see 90 miles into Arkansas from its heights and there is a zip line from the top over the tree tops some 1/2 mile of ride for those brave enough for the ride. Sign up for the newsletter and we will keep you up to date and informed of some of the current shows and activities available for us during that week of June. Thanks for the question.
Best,
Branson MARC Region
