Default Placement of Steel Sill plate brackets

I live in rural Australia and it is a tad difficult to interact with other Model A enthusiasts or to meet with them and look at a finished restoration project.

I am stuck, well and truly in my restoration of a 35A 1928 Phaeton. I am totally bamboozled by how to place correctly (that is – which way they go, is there an up and a downside etc.) of the Steel Sill (Scuff) plates Mac’s part number A46480B, the steel sill plate brackets A46480BR and the steel sill plate extensions A46480E. All of which I have and despite looking at all three over the Christmas New Year break I still cannot fathom how they all fit together.

None of the restoration manuals I have cover this – and believe me I seem to have purchased pretty much every book ever written on restoring Model A’s
Any help that anyone member may be able to provide – or a link to a web site or a reference to a book etc. - would be appreciated

John,
I just installed a pair of sill covers and extensions on my early 29 phaeton this past weekend. It is not an easy job as it takes some bending, fitting, welding and dressing down the welds. However it isn't a real tough job either - just a lot of fitting and treaking. I had been worrying about the task for a while, but the job turned out quite well. The pictures show the steps I used to fit the sill covers. If you want to see the pictures I took, sent me your email address as pictures are much easier to attach to emails than PM's. My email address is: [email protected]

Brent
I have the mounting plates - but just could not work out how to fix them. I ever even considered mounting them so! Many thanks for the picture.
