I removed a dist from an 8ba, only marking is
B 14

"B14" sounds like a casting date code or other manufacturing symbol to me. I am assuming that the unit you removed is a stock Ford distributor, as the aftermarket units are usually clearly labeled. As far as I know, all Ford 8BA distributors are functionally equivalent. With a lot of research and work, we could probably figure out Ford's manufacturing coding, but to what purpose?
