Default Extra Key question?

How should I go about getting an extra key for a Model A?
Do I need to go to a ford dealership?
Box Store? order blanks online?

Thank you

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have to send in the key to them?

Your key and lock each have a number on them. Give the number to A&L and they can cut the key without sending your's to them.

That is the easiest and fastest method, they also will stamp the number in the new new so it matches the original key I believe.

I purchased a blank from Little Dearborn in Minneapolis MN, then took it to my local old time hardware store in Milltown WI and they cut it for me, works great.

That's what I did. Worked fine. But I'd like to get some authentic A&L keys some day.

Buy the blanks from A+L have him put the number on the keys and go to a locale locksmith and he should have no problem matching your old key to the new blank key...

Jon, what time were you in town? I just got home from another drive over to Milltown. I was there about 1:30. I bought some pants at the thrift store. Very good prices in there. I see the town cafe just closed. That's a bummer when small towns loose businesses.

I went to see about setting up a day trip for the Model A's so I had to visit Erling Jensen south of town.

Just don't waste your time going to big box or large hardware stores if you buy your own blanks. Their machines can't cut the A blanks. Need to go to a lock smith who has the older grinder type machine.................Glen
