does anybody remember the post from the fellow who is making the new style o- d solenoids

Randy Rundle carries them on his fifth avenue internet garage site. Maybe others too.

The price is kind of high on new ones. Many times the old ones just need a good cleaning of the contacts as well as an overall inspection and test. There may also be folks out there that rewind the coils on these.

ShoeBox Central has them also.. the price really went up in the last few years... i paid $225 several years ago from Fifth Avenue..... they are now $385.... they can be found on E-Pay in 6 & 12 volt application...

I think Mac Van Pelt has 'em in 6v only. I got a 12v one from 5th Ave. If you get a new one, or even a used one for that matter, be sure to check the point adjustment before using it. On the one I got the pull-in coil was out of adjustment, stayed energized all the time and fried itself in short order.
