Rust Stains on Stainless Steel
My 1931 headlight and tail light buckets have heavy rust stains where the non-stainless steel fasteners were located. I tried some mild rubbing compound which has had little effect on the stains.
I may try to soak them in one of the chelating solutions such as Evaporust or WD-40 Rust Remover, but am curious what these effect these products will have on the stainless steel. I do know that they will slightly darken regular steel. Any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks. |
