Default 34 ford radiator

I HAD A SPECIAL RADIATOR BUILT MANY YEARS AGO. IT IS WHAT i WOULD CALL A SHOW RADIATOR. ALL BRASS WITH A PRESSURE CAP. PUTTING MY COUPE BACK TOGETHER AFTER MANY YEARS. SO I MOCKED IT UP WITH FRONT FENDERS & GRILL. i HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR DIMENSIONS. MOUNTS FOR UPPER GRILL TO THE TANK ARE OFF BY THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH.NEEDS TO GO BACK THAT MUCH. BUMMER !!. Looks like I will go with a stock radiator. My question is why do I need a pressurized radiator?. Ran it many years ago stock radiator & fan set up with 180 degree thermostats 50/50 mix antifreez/water no problems. I AM RUNNING A MODIFIED 59 AB ENGINE, It never overheated on me!. It seems to me that most everyone is running a pressurized radiator these days. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME HELP ON THIS. thanks! stan

Thanks Cars3. I guess I will have to go with one of those if they are still available. Did every thing line up for grill & inner fender panels? Front Hood latch mounts & radiator rods etc?. Thanks Stan

Stock (and even modified) flatheads with 33-34 radiators do not use a pressurized cap. Because of the size and shape of the upper tank it is difficult to use one without ballooning it.

I'd give Lee a call at Brassworks in Paso Robles, CA He might be able to modify the one you have to work or he can build you a new one. Might be worth a trip over the Sierra's to see. A repair might be expensive but most likely less than a new radiator. Either way it will be a couple of months or longer wait.

Stan, my car is an old school jalopy, so no fenders. Hood and grill lined up fine. Brassworks stuff is usually about the best you can buy from what i know, but they are not cheap
