Default Ing.switch removal 50 cpe

cant seem to push the switch in to remove the bezel have a new switch with tumblers I can see how I think it should come apart but I just cant get the switch to go in to the dash I don't think I need to take the tumblers out because they wont come out till the bezel is off did one about 50 years ago just don't remember

I don't know if this will help, but I have '51 I just changed, and I had to hold hold the switch against the dash from the back while pushing and turning from from the front. I had some help, which made it easier.

If it is the same type as I am thinking of, you have to push the switch from under the dash towards the rear of the car to rotate and remove the bezel. As previously stated.

I've had mine in/out several times lately and find it quit easy by using a 3/8 hollow shaft nut driver. Put the nut driver on one of the electrical terminals and push gently. It's much easer than using fingers and it allow you to get further into the dash under area without bending the wrist. If you insist on not buying a nut driver, you could use a 3/8 socket and 6" extension.

What a great i idea Paul..
I have a Nos switch that i need to install in my Merc .but have been dreading doing along with changing out my steering column due to messed up shift mechanism inside the column
