Default New to model a original drivetrain

I've had quite a few model A's but just got one with all the original drivetrain , I had it running for about 30 seconds and that's what the previous owner said it would do , I have to put an exhaust on it , I'm sure it needs carb work and with a new battery it turns over really slow , I haven't pulled all of the connections and cleaned them thoroughly yet but I'm sure that might help , the stud coming out of the starter switch is turning on me when I try to tighten the battery cable , and is there suppose to be a top bracket for the generator , any help appreciated

No original top bracket for the long generator. The powerhouse may have had one... There is an aftermarket tensioner though....the fan belt does not need to be very tight.

Here are a couple pictures of the inside of the starter switch.

The old one with the Dorman bolt is wrong and a new one with the captured bolt is more correct...but it's a repop..

I swapped all the new parts out of the repop into the old housing..worked great...
