'41 Hood Spring Attach Broke
The bracket that is fastened to the hood stiffener came off. It has two pins about 5/16" and one smaller pin about 1/8" that fit into holes in the stiffener structure inside the hood. Not sure if they were rivets or tack welded in place. Looks like it rusted loose.
Any advice on how to re-attach. Would be a bit awkward to do with the hood still installed, but should that bracket be welded back on, or what. |

Re: '41 Hood Spring Attach Broke
If you have a TIG welder at your disposal, that's the way I would fix it.

Re: '41 Hood Spring Attach Broke
You may also be able to use steel 3/16 dia. pop rivets. Use more than 3 to assure strength.
Large head pop rivets are also available. Be sure to get the correct length. https://www.ebay.com/itm/33049003242...gaAoMzEALw_wcB |
