Your use of the word sector is confusing. The sector is only one part of the steering box assembly;

ok! the steering box! the picture you show is the cross shaft that the pitman arm attaches too. I am talking about the shaft that the steering wheel goes on! she slack I am speaking of is possibly between this shaft & the worm gear on the lower end.
