Default 29 Roadster (open cab) pickup question

Hi guys
Looked at a 1929 roadster (open cab, the top goes down) pickup for a friend the other day and neither the left or right fender is welled for a spare tire. Did an Model A's come this way? I tried doing a search on the forum and couldn't come up with much. Just curious.
Thanks
Scott

My 29 roadster pickup is original and the top does not go down, it comes off and the spare tires is in the left front fender well. Wayne

Hi Sconners.
The top on a RPU does not originally fold and the spare tire fender well was usually on the drivers side.
Les.

Actually a 28-29 roadster pickup top assembly doesn't even come off. It's affixed to the body. The 30-31 was made to lift off, having grommets and turnbuckles.
