Default “The Restorer” for Jan/Feb 2021

I received my copy of “The Restorer” for Jan/Feb 2021 today in VA. It seems the same corresponding issue of the “Model ‘A’ News” tends to run almost two months later than “The Restorer” for the last couple of issues.

Is that the way it’s always been?

Your response is very logical and there’s no reasonable explanation. You hit the proverbial nail on the head. .

The Model A news always arrives a month later than all my other magazines. I have gotten used to it and it arrives about the time I finish the others...It is what it is...

Contrary to Mr. McMimmcs’ statement, there is a very reasonable and logical explanation.

The two magazines are produced and published in different parts of the country with different staff, different printers, different press capabilities, different production schedules, and different mailing houses and labeling processes, all of which require people who because of Covid may not be able to come to work regularly. USPS has also been less reliable for the last year. Covid has changed everything. My first answer was brief because it seemed self-explanatory.

I worked in print and publication for 37 years. Production schedules can be disrupted by myriad problems which can and will cause delays.

I get one mag one month, and the next month the other mag comes.

That works for me.

Almost like a monthly mag that way

With all do respect can you explain why it was mailed during the busiest week of the year during the Christmas rush when the post office advises to refrain from mailing during that period !

No. Who can explain the mysteries and vagaries of postal delivery? Not the post office, and certainly not me.

Our local PO is only getting LARGE batches of mail sporadically. We just got a Christmas card mailed Dec 8th.

I received my RESTORER last week. As usual...a quality publication. Was pleased to read that my club Newsletter received a Newsletter of merit award. The RESTORER does much to make our hobby enjoyable. We will get through COVID and things will be at a new normal. Get out there and drive....once the snow melts.
