Door lock jiggles open using outside handle?
1941 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. It would seem that with a few jiggles of the outside door handle, my drivers side door can be unlocked. As I jiggle the outside handle, I can see the inside handle move slowly into the unlocked position, and then can open the door.
1. Anyone else experience this, know what the problem could be, or know the fix? 2. Is there a procedure/kit to convert the drivers side door to a keyed lock? As always, the infinite knowledge and experience of this group is appreciated. |

The inside mechanism, just under the inside handle, has a spring, that if broken or missing, can allow the inside handle to move too freely.

my '49 F1 does that as well, it has come in handy for me a couple of times when both handles were in the lock position with the doors closed.
