Default Looking to identify parts and value

Looking to identify year(s) and value of door felt trim metal. 14 3/4” inch tall. Thinking Standard model years?

Looking to identify and value of Deck Lid hinges, they are shorter than 39-40 Fords.

Thank You

Joe

Joe, If the trim is for a coupe, it has some value, perhaps, $25 - $40. What is the width? It is "standard" model.
The lid supports are pretty much worthless, maybe $10 or so IF they will support the lid.

The metal trim is 1/8” wide. I’m just saying for Standard cars? as the front bottom part is not as wide as in my 39 Deluxe. The measurements are the same as I have in my car, a Deluxe Coupe. ( 14 3/4” tall X 31” long. ) I’m not familiar with the height and length of a driver side door felt upholstery trim on a “ sedan “ reason for asking.

I think the deck lid hinges has value, ( repop springs can be purchased if hinges don’t hold decklid up ) especially if they don’t make this type in repop. I’m not sure how a 37-38 Ford Coupe deck lid hinge looks like, if it’s manual lock, if so then not sure where these go or even what manufacturer of auto. If the 37-38 Ford Coupe uses spring hinge types ( like the 39-40 and later ) thinking maybe they go on those year cars? As the decklid is smaller than the 39-40 so thinking the hinges will be smaller, which they are compared to the 39-40. This one looks to have the original factory color of a very dark blue.

I’ve owned many parts for 51 years, ( as it came with my 39 which I purchased it in 1970 and still own ) and needing to prioritize the parts that I’m not familiar with for future sale. It’s not like I’m a young kid anymore.

Thank You

They 37 Ford coupe deck lid had a manual mechanism to lock it upright (not something with springs).

Yep, trim is 40 standard. I'll stick with my original estimate. I'll also stick with my estimate for the lid supports. You'll most likely end up tossing them.

Thankx for ID trim, in your opinion is that trim for only a 40 Standard or for a 39 Standard or also for 37-38 Standards. Seems odd they would make that for a one year knockoff.

Thankx, did see some ( what looked like original 37 Coupes ) with one hinge ( drivers side only ) with springs on it but the angle piece that mounted onto the decklid with the two screws where, had a different configuration, so guessing that was changed from original manual locking clips?

It's possible the trim fits '39 as well but I don't think so. I simply can't recall for certain. I've attached a photo of '39 std. trim. They don't look like yours.

My 37 coupe has the manual mechanism that Juergen describes, my serial number is an early February engine serial number. The Early Ford V8 club book on 37's show a running change to a spring loaded support later in production, page 3-21. The book also shows the length of the support with the spring, p/n 78-727690-B having a length of 12.5" from the centerline of the hole to the centerline of the rivet. Yours looks a good amount longer than that dimension.

A similar but longer support, p/n 78-7068970-B, was used on sedans. You might checkout the Automotive Trimming and Supplies catalog, page 13, for more details. I don't have a copy of that publication yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't the styling the same or quite simliar for:

38 deluxe >>> 39 standard
39 deluxe >>> 40 standard

If they fit '40 standard then they have a better chance of fitting 39 deluxe than a 39 standard??

Here’s the two spring type that I found on what looked like very original 37 Ford Coupes. The one in red has a notch ( turns horizontal ) then turns up 90 degree then turns horizontal again where the two mounting bolts mounts to the deck lid. Mine angles downward, ( where the two mounting bolts hook to the deck lid ) so not a 37 late model Coupe. I will check out the ones on the sedans that you mentioned. Either way if it is for a 37 Ford, I don’t see any company making repops of these, so to me anyway, has some value. I actually compared to my hinges, looks to be similar in length .Thankx !

They do not look like the 39 std. trim in my photos. Look at the bottom corners...

Thankx for the kind words, mostly original looking, Lebanon Bonney mohair interior, Wood Grain dash by Elmo’s Grainmobile, decades ago. 46 Canadian block, with hop up parts, converted to 12 volt pointless ignition many years ago. Bought ignition system from Patrick’s years ago. Modern 15” tires, with nostalgia rims, still has vacumn wipers. Dropped front axle. This September will be 51 years of ownership, a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get it to look like it is now....once again Thankx for the kind words..
