Thumbs down 51 EAB engine Generator Mounting

This set up is the generator on top of the oil filled fan.
There is a square "washer" that holds the fan set up in a vertical plain. The engine is in the car.(40 sedan).
I am having trouble making the square washer stay in place. It wants to turn as I tighten the main nut. Is there a set of directions (step by step) that someone could pass on to me. I would by very thankful.

I tried once to weld an alignment lug on the square washer, it didn't work out. What works best IMO is to leave the fan belt off, tighten the fan to the gen bracket to keep the washer square, then lift the gen to tighten that belt. Now loosen the fan bracket, put the belt on it, and tighten the fan. It's about all you can do.
