Identifying an oil pan

In looking at this oil pan, It does not seem to resemble a 59AB pan, especially the location of the drain plug off center. From the inside it looks similar to 59AB. Any ideas ? Thank you. Photo;

There were several versions of the '35 - '36 oil pan. In Feb/Mar of '36 the 1" drain plug was moved from left side to center of oil pan. So the pan shown would be an earlier version. The 59 series oil pan would have a 2" drain plug, but would still work on the earlier engines.

russcc,does your pan have the vent in front? I couldn't see in your pic.True 36's are vented.

Yes, there is a vent in the front. I will post a photo of the inside.

Here is photo of the inside. This pan is listed in bible as a 59A-6675, '32-48. It has the vent, but no provision for an oil filter return line with the dip stick tube boss.

The early engines returned the oil through a hollow bolt in either the front cover or fuel pump stand mount.

The dipstick boss with oil return line provision is being reproduced and could be fitted to the '35-'36 oil pan that you have.
