Default Rubber floor mats

Does anyone know where I can buy tan rubber floor mat material? I need a piece about 48" X48" to fit in my panel truck.

When I'd restored a 39 wagon, I needed the long rear mat which of course, do not exist. I did manage to find some rubber that had a very similar pattern to the original pieces that had remained.
I bought enough to cover the entire requisite area and carefully cut to fit. Then? I painted it. It has held up extremely well.

I would try McMaster-Carr. They have several different varieties of rubber matting. For example, part number 6897T522 is ribbed matting, 48"x48" that might work. Kube, I also needed the rear cargo mat for my '46 Wagon. I searched everywhere at Hershey. I was about to give up and stopped to look at some Ford parts from a company named Brownlees. I asked the gentleman if he had any floor mats for my car and before he answered me, a voice came from his wife in the camper. Well, I don't know how she heard me, but she answered, "I think we have one back at the shop". To make a long story short they had a NOS mat still in the original box and of course I purchased it.

Might check Home Depot. They have ribbed mat by the foot, not sure about 48" wide

Kube, How did you get the paint to adhere to the rubber?

SEM automotive paint for plastics works well for painting rubber mats. Of course the mat material must be absolutely free of mold release chemicals and any other contamination. Its use is about the only way one can duplicate the original Benton gray color mats used in '36+ Fords.

Spot on!
The major issue was in fact cleanliness. Once I figured I had it clean enough, I wiped it down a few more times.

Since the paint will have a glossy finish, we top coat it with SEM satin clear.
