Default 1941 Stock distributor V8 Dennis Carpenter Rotor 68-12201

Anyone used one of these Rotors the new on I received is red and does not fit on the shaft I'm sure I could file it a bit but not sure if I should, It will go on until about the last .5 (inch).
I'm more tempted to send it back.

The distributor issue I am having is still killing me

the last 1/2" is the flat step part (keeps the rotor from turning on the shaft) and yes I also have had trouble getting them on. I had to file down the "flat" to get it on
