a discussion on dist cams farther down this list was talking about the lobes being not the same, I know about that, me and my friend fought a miss in my engine for about 4 hrs , good compression hot spark out of coil, and good fuel flow to carb, we finally found the problem, on lobe on the can was worn flat and not opening the points, so check every thing even if its new, and while im here posting, another thing to check are new valves, always have then faced, you would be surprised how much the face is out of true
