Help!
Does anybody have the PPG code for Rock Moss Green?
My new painter has decided the closest he can come is a British Racing green. I don't think that's gonna do it. I must admit I have not looked at the two chip side by side but..............

Try DDL 117 and DDL 17.Those were the old Ditzler,(pre PPG) numbers for it.The PPG dealer here says the new color is a side color,not exact,but I couldn't tell the difference.

Thanks Keith a search showed it as PPG 117 or
Dupont L8621 so it kinda matches up with the old ditzler code...........Hmmm

My painter used British Racing Green to paint my truck and let me assure you that they never ever painted a Model A this color.

There is this site. You find the year and it shows the paint codes for the color you want. 1936 Color Codes - Ford Paint Cross-Reference

Thank all, I did check the chip he was looking at and it was a Jaguar color racing green.
Compared to the paint chip it looked bang on. He has the code now.

Teun: I couldn't find bronson yellow on the chart that 62 pan referenced above. Roger Kaufman ran a paint formula chart a few years ago in the Model A News. He called it close matches. Bronson Yellow; DuPont C8067 PPG 545

I am not sure about PPG but the closest color I have seen is a 76-78 Subaru Steppe green. It was found by a friend of mine who is a model A perfectionist. Here is a picture of the color. It really doesn't do the color justice but I have compared freshly painted pieces to an original gas tank painted rock moss green and it is damn near identical.

The code is a Dupont Centari code, 44501A. Personally I don't understand the reason for wanting specifically one brand of paint because this is the closest color I've seen.
