Wow, that looks absolutely amazing. Very nice.

Would an aluminum OHV, mated to aluminum block weigh less than an original cast iron engine?

Yes there would be a weight savings. Without weighing things, and going only by sheer estimation, I would guess aluminum would save you around 75 lbs. That is a very rough and quick guess.

The first aluminum OHV approaches assembly. Rockers and push rods have already been fitted. Given that everything is proceeding as planned 5 more iron castings are set to be made, one slated to end up in England, where a buyer anxiously awaits one.
