K-100 Fuel additive

Anybody used it? Opinions?


Kind of expensive at $20 for 2 16 oz bottles. Regular treatment 1 bottle to 16 gals, if you have water in your gas 1 bottle for 8 gallons.


Supposed to turn bad gas good, and stabilize gas for 2 years. Breaks up water /ethanol that has separated, mixes it in with the gas so it burns out. those are the claims.


This thread is just for the K-100, not intended to start a thread on every bodies preference for best product to use in gas.

Be very skeptical! These additive sellers are good at deceptive phrasing that somehow passes for legal. Ethical? That's another story! There's a reason this kind of stuff is called "mouse milk, "panther pee", etc. I'm especially leery of a product that claims to do everything but sweeten your coffee! On the other hand, maybe it does everything they claim, and more.

There is a product called Mouse Milk that is used on turbocharger waste gates. Now snake oil is another story.

Home depot and small engine shops sell Ethanol Shield,I use it in all my 2&4 stroke engines...Good stuff,better than sta-bil.

I do not have a need for it


I do not need suggestions on what to use or get into a debate on what is best.


Met a guy who has worked on small engine equipment including motorcycles /boats for 20 years. Asked him what additives work best for him on getting rid of tater in a gas tank. K401 was 1 of the 3 he mentioned. K401 I have not heard of, the other 2 were familiar.


Went on the Internet, K401sounds pretty good if you believe the claims and videos (am skeptical). Especially if it stabilizes gas for 2 years, and breaks water up in the gas evenly so it can be burned while running.


Just asking if anyone has used it and results.

K-100's primary ingrediant is...wait for it...ethanol.

Actually this makes some sense. Prior to E10, if you had water in your gas, you bought a bottle of HEET or other such product. They were almost entirely ethanol. Ethanol absorbs the water that has settled to the bottom of the tank and mixes it with the fuel allowing it to be burned in combustion.

If you are using E10 and want to counter what you feel are the bad effects of ethanol, adding MORE ethanol to the fuel by using products like K-100 probably isn't the answer.

EDIT: 40 Deluxe beat me to the link.. It's always good to do some research before believing the "hype" about products like this, or anecdotal "evidence" from well meaning folks.

There are some U tube videos/demos of it supposedly showing it "encapsulating at microscopic levels with gas" so it will burn in the gas. Not supposed to separate back out.

Thanks to all who posted. Have had time now to insure all who wanted to reply, have.


Especially thanks for providing the link to the ethanol site.
So as I understand now.


If using E10, need to use within 30 days before possible phase separation, but still can attract water. And still is not a great product. Keep it as fresh as possible . Seems to indicate running the gas tank really low before adding more.


Perhaps best if last couple of tanks of the season to use ethanol free, and fill tank to top to keep condensation at a min. Add a gas stabilizer.


Even if advertised as Ethanol free, no guarantees, and if is the next station tank fill may not be. If desired use one of the commercially available test kits on the above site.


It seems there is no miracle gas stabilizer or water removal/re-mixer additive. Best to keep water out, and if encountered drain and dry the tank.
