New '33 pickup build

So we aquired this '33 pickup basket case the other day. The plan for it is to turn it into an almost all Ford traditional Hotrod. It will keep the original '33 front end and the 4:11 Banjo rear for now. may even keep the mechanical brakes. I'm thinking it will end up with no fenders, running boards, or hood sides in part because it cuts down on a TON of body work and it just looks cool without them.
The truck came with a 59A flathead and a 3 speed transmission installed. I believe the 59A has been rebuilt and not run since rebuild. The guy we got it from didnt know much about it. He was just flipping it after having it a couple weeks. I did a compression test and it had 120+ in all but 4 which had 50 and 8 had 75. I'm guessing it has adjustable lifters that need tweaking.
The 59A is not the planned engine for this build.
The planned engine is a hot flathead built by Uncle Walt Dupont. It is a 276CI, .125 overbore, 4in crank, 400jr cam, full skirt racing pistons, racing valve springs, 185 Offy heads, 160lbs compression, dual carb intake, 8BA block with crab distributor, and a compass in the stock...
there isnt tons of body work needed. Back bottom of cab and front bottom of body mostly. The rest is some patch work here and there. Bed still has the metal floor in it though its pretty rough up front. Enough talking, here's some pics..

Might be a good idea to think about disc brakes or hydraulics. Would be more consistent with that fabulous Walt DuPont engine.....and a whole lot safer for you!!! Just a thought!

I know. That may change. The mechanical brakes are actually working on this thing now though. haven't pulled the drums yet.
