That's approximately equal to 80W to 85W gear oil. The issue is motor oil does not have the additives that are included in gear oil. If it is changed fairly frequently you can get away with it, but it would be better to add gear oil sometime in the future. GL4 would be good.

Note: I assumed that you are referring to it being deliberately added to the transmission, there is no way oil from the engine could get into the transmission by accident!

There is a "tractor oil" that is used for transmission and hydraulic both. Common tank.

Modern hydraulic oils are usable for lubricants. My lathe uses Mobil GTE 24 & 26 for the gear head and apron respectively. I wouldn't use them in an old Ford though. They are too thin and would leak all over the place. I would go for Aeroshell 100 mineral though. It is equivalent to SAE 90 GL-1 since it is equivalent to SAE 50 motor oil. AS you can see from the chart above. Motor oils are graded differently for viscosity than gear lubricants. Any oil is better than none but the thin stuff won't stay inside very well unless it is very cold outside.
