Fuel pump push rod orientation
Completing install of rebuilt 1949 flathead 8BA motor. Not sure which end of the fuel pump push rod goes down thru the bushing. Rod has three parts to it. Center is a hollow steel tube 7 7/16 inches long, with on end having a 1/2 inch end attached and the other end having a 2 1/8 inch shiny metal piece on it. It seems to me the 2 1/8 end should face down thru the bushing as it appears to be the right length to ride in that bushing but I have not been able to find any definitive installation info about it. I was just wanting to check here with the community to get confirmation. Thanks all

No, mine is a ‘49. I believe the umbrella style rod was from ‘32 to ‘48.
