Scam alert
Ad says. 8BA block been hot tanked, pressure tested and magnafluxed. $500.00. Been magnafluxed alright but why didn't he say 2 cracks where found headed towards 2 cylinders? Why didn't he say a crack in one exhaust port was stiched up with Iron-Tite plugs? Why didn't he say one cylinder was gouged and would not clean up at .125 over? $500.00 plus $175.00 shipping from Kansas to North Carolina. Then he wanted $30.00 for straps and the pallet. Ford Barn user name RAYBEE. Ray Beeson Edwardsville KS. PS; I have been advertising this block for FREE. No takers.2004-01-06 03.11.56 - Copy.jpg I have a picture of the exhaust but because I hit Preview Post I can not ad it.

Re: Scam alert
Remember the days when you told your mother half-truths so you wouldn't be punished for telling a fib? Read ads carefully to pinpoint half-truths. He told you it had been magnafluxxed. He told you it had been pressure tested, he told you it had been hot tanked. If you take him to small claims court, you have no valid claim against him because he told you no lies. It's always up to the buyer to ask the hot button questions. Liars are skilled in telling half-truths, and will win cases every day with that skill. Never be embarrassed to ask pertinent questions of one who has offered unsatisfying answers.

Re: Scam alert
By the scammer's moral code, If he covered all the bases in discouraging legit questions, he did it right and he'll make a sale. Let the buyer beware, and if he didn't insist on straight answers to the right questions, that's on him.
