fire wall patent plate installetion ???

Hi guys , my 31 roadster is finally painted and I am now putting it back together. I have a problem with the repro patent plate I purchased the 4 rivet holes line up perfect however they supplied me with these small nails which have a round rivet like head, as small as they are there to big for the existing holes. I'm afraid to try and smack them I don't want to scratch the paint. Has anyone installed these plates before ? if so please share the installation procedure with me. Thanks THE HOOCH

You probably have paint filling the holes in some. Try cleaning the holes open with a drill bit that's what I had to do... Just be carful and work your way up using quality bits. Once the holes are cleaned out the drive in rivets supplied work great
Mask off the holes with painters tape before proceeding
