Re: Need some rivets
Unless it is a plate with a perfectly round center I think you would be best just replacing it.
I know if you lived near me I would just hand you one from the pile. It is likely there is someone near you that would do the same. |

Re: Need some rivets
Why not use pop rivets with a wash behind the plate.

Re: Need some rivets
I don't think they make that plate he's trying to fix.
They only make the stamped one. Bob |

Re: Need some rivets
The local ACE hardware here has a nice selection of tubular rivits ---try the local hardware stores, it's always good to look through their nut/bolt/small hardware section

Re: Need some rivets
Before you go to the trouble of fixing it, check the fit of the center hole to the casting. If it's worn that just about as bad as worn bushings. Both in combination or alone will cause the plate to wonder and point gap will change.

Re: Need some rivets
if that center hole is worn slightly you can tap around it to tighten it up.

Re: Need some rivets
Like Kurt, I've found some at the local hardware store.
If they don't have them I'd try Big Flats Rivet Co. |
