Default J.R. Bullock Did Another Fine Job

Just got my carburetor back, put it on and the car runs as good as the carb. looks. Great job he does, and one week turnaround for $165.00 rebuilt! Lucky we have vendors for these old birds.

And I am remiss in not noting J.R. previously! He restored two carbs for me, both were returned in as-new condition, and operated perfectly out-of-the-box. We are, indeed, blessed to have him to rescue us!

I have a B1 carburettor that needs attention. Does he do those? If so, contact details?

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

The B motors Ford used in 1932-4? used a bigger carburettor than the A. There were two versions of it. The early one is commonly referred to as a B1, the later one as a B2.

I just received a reply from Mr Bullock. It's a no go - he doesn't work on B carbs.

Folks, you can't properly rebuild a "B" carburetor without removing the passage plugs and cleaning the hidden passages. The one of the biggest concerns is the passage under the GAV nettle where rust accumulates. The other buried passage is in the idle circuit. When I rebuild "B" carburetors, I drill out the passage plugs, clean out the passages and replace the plugs with set screws sealed with Loctite 592 thread sealer. This sealer remains pliable and is unaffected by gasoline and ethanol.
