Default Two of my favorite vehicles

Just back from a 450 mile round trip reliability run to Sumpter, Oregon. After loosing a water pump on the Washington run on 9/20/14 I rebuilt the passenger side pump on my pickup and decided to drive over to Sumpter for the last weekend of regular service for the Sumpter Valley Railroad for 2014.

Pickup ran fine, the pump weeped a bit, but not enough to worry me for now.

While we were there I took a picture of my truck along side Sumpter Valley #19 a 115 ton, 1920 vintage ALCO Mikado locomotive. I've fired the #19 some this past summer and plan on more of the same next season.

Couldn't resist posting a picture of two of my favorite vehicles.

Running or firing a steam locomotive is the most fun you can have standing up! Great pair of machines. Looks like the 19 is an oil burner, too. Good for you.

Great picture! I took my pickup up to the Chama NM railhead for the Cumbres & Toltec RR this summer, couldn't manage a pic of the engines and my truck together. Claimed to be the last coalburners in regular operation. I rode the line in '10 on the final weekend, with gorgeous Fall colors in the mountains.
