Taking my F1 out on an errand
Hello Ford Barn,
I haven't been around the forums for a while so thought I'd make a little video of a run into town to pick up some propane. It's now sporting early 80's wheels from a E-150 while I try to find 2 more 15x5 "innie" wheels so I can use the stock hubcaps. Lately I've been working on getting the stock gauges operational, with all the discussions about fuel gauges I'll document what I did. As engine, clutch, and brakes all wear in, it just gets better and better. I recently pulled the speedo, cleaned and lubed and it's working good although reads 5 MPH slow. I attribute that to the '57 9 inch rearend with 3.70 gears. Video

Re: Taking my F1 out on an errand
Nice looking truck. Every time I see one of these, I really start to think I should get rid of my "beater" '99 F150 and get one like this. Then reality sets in and when I realize that it will be another vehicle to wash and wax, I come back to reality. Sigh.

"Mart" - Really? I just cannot abide driving a nice car when it doesn't look it's best. I have my '99 F150 to run around in with it looking like crap. My Corvette or the '51? Not in the book for me.

Re: Taking my F1 out on an errand
It's really nice to have it so street-able now after three years. There are still lots of things that need attention. The only lights are stop lights, nothing else yet, no wipers either. The goal is to get everything working like it should and drive it a lot. The picture makes it look a lot nicer than it really is, very presentable but no show truck.
Thanks again for all the help I've received from all you "Barners".
