Default serial number

what do i own , serial number on fire wall ... FORD 1929, SERIAL NO.ALTA 5491.No visible numbers on frame or cross members, any info or direction appreciated.

There should be a number on the engine block, on the driver's side where the head meets the block, right above the water inlet port. The last number in 1929 was near A274200 and it should have a star stamp at the beginning and end.

Here's a sheet on Canadian Serial numbers. It will only be stamped on the engine. You may have a date on the left side of the firewall.

Seems as thought you have a rebuilt motor and a serial number giver to the car some time in the past. As you have figured the it is not original.

On US made cars there were two locations. Canadian cars did not all have the number on the frame.
