Default Model A Ford clutch pedal and pedal shaft collar

I am making adjustments to the excessive clutch play and am wondering if the brake and clutch pedal collar is supposed to fit snugly between the clutch pedal tabs. I have a fair amount of play when I pin the collar(new) on the shaft and am not sure if this play is normal or are the tabs on the clutch pedal worn?

Welcome to Fordbarn!

The tabs on the factory blueprint are supposed to be ½" wide on both sides with ¼" depth of the tab. The overall width of the Pedal Shaft Bushing Housing (-not inclusive of the tabs) on the print shows that to be 2.030" wide. Depending on what year you are working on, there is a thin wavy washer that is between the brake pedal and the clutch pedal to keep pressure against the collar. This was typically found on May-June of 1929 until end of production. I hope that answers your question.
