The phaeton does have a center pillar, referred to as a b-piller. The rear door is hinged off the b-piller unlike the rear door on the sedan which is a suicide door. Maybe ken you are talking about the piece between the windows on a convertible sedan?

What is difference in phateon B pillar and convertible B pillar other than conv. sedan has a hole in top for the divider to mount. I have both B pillars for conv. sedan. Thanks W.L.D.

Hi. I just saw your statement about having both B pillars for a convertible sedan. Are they still available? I NEED 2 for my 1939/1940 convertible sedan.
Thanks.

Someone at the Petaluma Calif swap meet ( a few weeks ago) had the posts and quarters there for sale. It looked like he was parting out a '39 convert sedan. I don't know who he was but you can try and run an ad in the auto parts section on the San Francisco Bay Area Craigslist and perhaps he will see it. It has worked for me in the past. - Dennis
