Factory manuals work with new parts so new shoe/lining and drum . Factory doesn't recognise any wear however minor .A worn drum has a larger dia so you need a thicker lining to compensate for the wear ie drum has .050 thou wear lining needs to be 0.25 thicker to compensate shoes are ground to set the correct clearance . but you still need to install the shoes correctly to achieve this hence the anchor pin adjustment

Marsh…….yes that’s what I bought. I also answered your PM but I’ve been traveling and be home Monday and I’ll send you the photo of adapter I made up. What’s ur email address as I’ve never had success posting photos here sorry !
