Upper door plates
Strange thing. I have a pair of original doors from a donor car and my own originale upper door plates.
They don't fit. Somehow the door plates are too short. Doors are 27 3/4", plates are 27 9/16. Do you simply bend the ends of the plates or ??? Henk |

Re: Upper door plates
Did you remove the door, or buy it already off the car?
Just trying to determine for sure what it was on, and why it's too long. |

Re: Upper door plates
I would suspect that the doors and/or bodies were made by different manufacturers or stamping plants.

Re: Upper door plates
Looking at your door Tom, I realise mine do not have the recess in the upper parts of the sides of the doors. That why the upper plates are too short. Do not know what kind of car donated the doors. But mine are straight and not recessed lik yours.

Re: Upper door plates
The door tops on '28 standard doors are different than those on '29 doors. You might have '28 door tops.

Re: Upper door plates
The gas tank date on my early 29 Tudor is 2-23-29, so I'd think it would be like your's.
