What is it and how do you use it?
I picked this up on Ebay because it looked interesting and the price was right (Cheap!). But I have no idea what it is or how to use it on my A. Any thoughts?

it should have a chisel edge on each side so it spreads the springs and you give it a shot of grease- I have the manual version it just spreads the spring and you give it a shot with a pre zerk grease gun.

OK, it is for greasing Chrysler leaf springs. Are Chrysler springs drilled to accept this device? Oh well, another item for my "museum" (as my wife calls my parts collection) and for the flea market table!

You got to love a guy that buys a tool, not knowing what it is or how to use it! I'm just surprised that he is still married!

Re: What is it and how do you use it?
i made one of those but the ends were beaten flat so they would slip between the spring leaves. It broke the second time i used it.

My wife is a quilter and spent 12K on a Bernina Sewing Machine. Compared to that, 10 bucks on a mystery tool is nothing! |

I have two 1931 cars.....wife has two dogs. Total cost for my cars is equal to cost of dogs with vet bills, food, grooming etc. We don't object to each other's expenses. Life is good!

That tool is used by wives to get their husbands to ask directions-placed on testicles and tightened to get her husband to admit he is lost. Still used today.

Re: What is it and how do you use it?
The tool is specifically used for springs which have metal gator covers. These are covers usually made of a soft galvanized metal wrapping the springs and only having the shackle area exposed. When restoring a car with these covers, it is usually found that water had entered the covered area and taken its toll on rusting and pitting the leafs.
