Picked up a deep well 1/2" socket - 1/4" drive, wobble/universal, and a 6" extension from Home Depot the other day and was able to get on top of every bolt on the pan after removing the inspection plate. It fit fine.

I use a 1/4" cordless impact driver with a 1/2" nut driver with 6" shank.
I use it for off and on... Good Day! |

What kind of gasket do most use when they reinstall the pan? Also, is there something to do to some "rear seal" when you are doing this job?

I also had to grind the socket to get a good fit, it is now my oil pan only socket.
