Default Oil Canister Question

I have just purchased an 8BA oil filter canister from a fellow Ford Barner. It came with the required .060 inch inlet restrictor fitting and teed into it is another restrictor fitting which has a hole measuring about 3/32 inch diameter. Does anyone know what this 3/32 fitting is for? I have searched the threads and did not see any mention of this 3/32 inch fitting. Thanks

As I recall. the 52-53 mercurys [and maybe the 49-51 models] used this setup.

Makes sense. I guess that is better than having the sender down on the block?
