Question Rear brake track

Questions please - is there any other way of mounting this rear brake track in the backing plate apart from the hot swedge process ? could the rivet be threaded and held tightly with a self lock nut or castle nut - has anyone tried something different? Also does the brake cam that fits into the camshaft go in in any particular way? Your advice would be appreciated John Spragg Australia.

John, I did a quick advanced search on the subject and here are the results, too much info to repost really. I hope this helps.
