Default Holley 885 throttle bracket

I have 2 885’s. The one on the right is what grandpa had on the car and the one on the left he always said he could get to work. I have walked it and also cooked it in an ultrasonic cleaner. I want to try it just for fun but I have noticed it has a different style of throttle plate bracket. Which is the correct one for a 49 Mercury?

The one on the right is '49 early'50 that used a push pedal linkage.
The one on the left with pull linkage used in late '50 on up.

These carbs have variations for different applications too. They were also used on Lincoln car 337 engines and for truck 337 applications which were generally governed so they are obviously different. The early 49 Mercs started out with a ball end for the linkage attachment. The ball end went away in late 1949 or 1950 somewhere. My early 51 models have the pin in the hole trunion type linkage. The automatic transmission cars that came later got the dashpot set up in 1951 plus they had to have the complicated TV control linkage related to both the throttle and the transmission control rod. This made for some interesting changes in 1951.
