starting to do the roof material on my sport coupe. I have a lf. & rt. piece of metal that attaches to the pillar from the door latch up to the top of the door. Does the top material go under this metal & the hidem go on top of this metal piece. (the nail holes & the slotted holes all line up with the holes in the pillar)

The holes are there so you can tack the top material to the post and then the hidem welt goes on top to finish it.

Do i tack the top material to the post first, then attach the metal piece, and then apply the hidem.
