Default 52 Merc wiring harness question.

I am starting the process of rewiring my 52 Merc Monterey hardtop. Didn't plan on doing this now but due to numerous electrical issues I'm forced into it. My question is about the harness to the tail/backup lights and fuel sending unit. It seems to start under the dash on the lh side and go into a hole above the kick panel. Do I need to remove the front fender to access the harness? This is the original harness. Any help would be appreciated.

The wire that goes in the hole above the kick panel goes down the body behind the fender and is held by a clamp half way down, from there it enters the front of the rocker panel. You can access every thing by removing the panel that is behind the rear wheel.
