1946-48 trunk inner panels
I'm installing new side inner trunk panels in a 1948 2 door sedan. Does anyone have pictures of how they attach? My original panels were missing. Thanks

Oval headed sheet metal screws with cup style finishing washers.

No pics here but just dry fit them. The fastener locations will be apparent.

Looks like I might have to trim the bottom of the left to clear to gas filler....is that correct?

Re: 1946-48 trunk inner panels
Some, such as the panels in my '47, are secured by two legged clips with a round button top, similar to the kind sometimes used on door panel trim. I don't recall having to alter the panels for the gas tank filler, but my car is a convertible, so much of the trim, etc, is considerably different from closed cars because Ford farmed out the bodies of the open cars. A good example is the window regulators, which require 9 turns to raise or lower the glass.

Kube. There was lots of things done on this car by the po’s, and I have been picking away at correcting/fixing things. Thanks for catching the screws.

I've only restored two postwar Fords. I do know the finish is supposed to be S15, oxidized - not stainless.

Kube. I didn't take you comment as criticism. From and education point of view, I think I'm in about grade three in my knowledge of old Fords. The posts of yours that I have read, puts you in the Professor category. I still have a lot to learn. I looked up "Luggage Compartment" in my 1941-48 EFV8 book after your post, and there it was, on page 3-25. The composite liners are held in place with small black finish screws and a washers, and with black painted push type retainers. I think I just graduated to grade four!
