I got 62 5/8 pretty much agreeing with rod father. This appears to be an original on this car.

It would surprise me if Kube was off on this. He is writing the new restoration book for 40s for the EFV8 club.

Is it straight or does it have a bend/curve in it toward the pointed end?

Hi Kube, I know the book says model 66 convertible club coupe says 60.74 long (353177-A Retainer) but every one that someone measures is around 62 1/2 to 62 3/4 what does the retainer mean as far as length?

Well that IS a surprise!! My 40 convertible had the trim holes filled in with bondo in the 60s and I haven't got the quarter pieces yet myself. At least now I know what they should measure.
We ALL get brain cramps.
