1935 VS 1936 3 Window Garnish Mouldings
Hello All, does anyone out there have any info on the difference between 1935 & 1936 3 Window Garnish mouldings or maybe it's a change through one of the model years ? I have 2 sets of 3 Window Garnish moldings and the difference is one set has slots in them ( all 3) for a rubber guide that I assume is for the glass to rest against. The other set has no slots but everything else is identical. Any thoughts anyone ?
Here are pics of the set with slots . The other set is just solid metal where the rubbers are. |

On the '35 the slots are in the door for the rubber bumpers, well that's the way my '35 is.

Garnish moldings are interchangeable between '35 & '36, model for model. Some of the '35 and early-'36 moldings had the rubber bumpers, while later '36 cars all used the felt strips, according to the "1935-'36 Ford Book".

Thanks TagMan. I searched through my book but apparently I didn't do a very good job of it. I try to reference by books, then do searches on the net before asking here. Oh well, some times you just can't win ! Thanks again for the info

There were two different profiles sent. Looked at the original pieces and figured out which went on the door and which went on the garnish. The ends of these rubber pieces are cut square; don't know if the originals were, they appear to have been rounded; but they are pretty shrunk up and eroded. |

Yeah, yeah........some of us can somewhat relate to that "shrunk-up" part. DD
