What is this rear hub from?
I bought a badly rusted basket case 40 a few years ago... and with it came axles (year unknown so far...) & '46 front hubs/brakes and only backing plates on the rear... these rear hubs have me stumped! there is no brake drum and the bolt pattern is 5 x 4 3/4 (or 4 1/2?), They seem to fit the axle fine, but what are they?
I do have a set of '40 rear drums, are they ok to use with the '46 rear backing plates? |

Re: What is this rear hub from?
Look like 40 hubs that have been re-drilled for GM pattern.

Re: What is this rear hub from?
They were 5 on 5-1/2"; but have been re-drilled to the smaller pattern. Probably '40 style that mounted inside the drum. Your '40 drums will work fine with the later backing plates.
