It's sad, younger generations won't have a chance to look for parts how we did.
That link has some great pictures.

In one picture of a 40's Mercury I see the stainless trim on the rear window. Hard to find now. John

Many have rusted-out bodies but think about all those brake assemblies, drive trains and engine blocks probably heading to China. Then they'll return our Made-in-USA steel diluted into the new inferior products.

It is always a sad day when another parts source closes down.

Can't someone, here, go in and pick out all the flathead trim parts ?
The heavy parts, I guess, are just gone.
SAD !

I saw a post about this on another site as well.
Gentleman that posted it has been to the yard. At this point they are already crushing cars. He said that most of the bodies were shot but there was alot of trim and misc pieces that were worth salvaging.
They have been open only two days a week and some time this month will close entirely.
Torchie.

went there a couple of times...Old man Hillard was blind and the son worked part time.. It surely was a sight to see. If all the cars could talk!what a story.

The Hyundai loader is probably made from another wrecking yard just like this one.

As Oldford2 said, That chrome back window trim on the 47 Mercury is very hard to find.

What a place! I could spend hours/days there exploring. Its a good thing I don't live nearby or I"d be hauling some of them home to save.

Cryin shame! You know there has got to be lots of mechanical parts that could be saved.
