Generator - too much lateral movement
I stripped my 'A's engine down to remove a faulty fan, and discovered that the generator seems to have excess lateral movement as indicated in the attached picture. Up to 3/16" movement in and out.
Please can anyone tell me if this is acceptable, or what do I need to do to correct this? Mike Johannesburg, South Africa |

Re: Generator - too much lateral movement
It's not normal, and it looks like there are some pieces missing that hold the felt seal and locate the bearing
